The FBI has triumphantly returned several priceless treasures that were plucked from Keanu Reeves' Los Angeles abode during a daring 2023 jewelry heist. The agency's triumphant announcement, released on Tuesday, included a heartfelt handwritten note from the 61-year-old actor, expressing his profound gratitude. "With profound gratitude and appreciation, I pen this letter," Reeves began, thanking the various agencies involved in the investigation and adding, "Thank you for all your effort, dedication, professionalism, and cross-border cooperation. My warmest regards, Keanu."

Chilean authorities had earlier announced on July 29th that they would be surrendering the recovered property, which included six lavish watches. Among them was an engraved Rolex Submariner valued at over $9,500, contributing to a total estimated worth of $125,000, according to Chile's robbery investigation squad. Chilean prosecutors revealed that Reeves had identified the watches as the same ones taken from his home in December 2023.
According to CNN, the items resurfaced in eastern Santiago in December 2024, when authorities apprehended a suspect linked to a series of "violent robberies." Akil Davis, assistant director in charge of the FBI's Los Angeles Field Office, emphasized the teamwork behind the recovery: "This case is a perfect example of the excellent international cooperation we enjoy with our Chilean counterparts and our local partners at the Los Angeles Police Department."
The FBI noted that the burglary was linked to "South American Theft Groups," described as "criminal organizations from South American countries who travel to the United States and other nations to commit theft." The agency is "actively investigating multiple SATG-linked crimes." Reeves met with FBI personnel and a Chilean PDI officer in New York in August to reclaim the items. LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell underscored that the case demonstrates that "crime today knows no borders," adding that the recovery shows organized theft groups "will be pursued wherever they operate."
