It was reportedly revealed that Keith Urban abruptly terminated an online interview on Tuesday, July 1st, after being quizzed about his wife Nicole Kidman's intimate scenes on screen. The 57-year-old crooner had joined Australia's Mix 102.3's popular morning show, 'Hayley & Max in the Morning,' via Zoom, but the call came to an abrupt end when a personal question was posed.
However, a well-informed source close to the situation clarified to PEOPLE magazine, "Keith did not hang up, full stop. He doesn't conduct his Zoom interviews himself. This whole thing is a mere non-issue."
Later, the show's hosts, Max Burford and Hayley Pearson, opened up about introducing a segment called 'Wall of Truth,' where guests are subjected to probing and personal questions. Burford elaborated, "As I was brainstorming questions for you, Keith Urban, had you been a part of this game, the first thing that popped into my mind was your stunning wife Nicole Kidman, who stars in countless hit movies and TV shows... I recently watched a movie with her and Zac Efron called 'A Family Affair'."
Urban responded nonchalantly, "Oh yeah, that's a good film." Burford then delved deeper, inquiring how Urban felt about witnessing Kidman's intimate scenes with other co-stars, particularly Zac Efron.
Allegedly, Urban was no longer on the call subsequent to this question. Another insider told the outlet that the country music star is notably "very laid-back" when it comes to interviews.
'A Family Affair,' starring 37-year-old Efron and the 'Babygirl' actress, premiered in June 2024. Reflecting on her collaboration with Efron, the 58-year-old actress remarked, "When you're working together on such material, it's really beneficial if you share a history, as it makes everything so much easier."
For those unaware, the 'Messed Up As Me' hitmaker and Kidman tied the knot in 2006 and are parents to two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.
