The Voice has been missing Kelly Clarkson since her departure, but thankfully, the three-time Grammy award winner is returning to The Voice this fall to sit in as a coach for season 30. NBC shared the exciting news on May 7th, with the official Voice account sharing an Instagram video of Kelly's best moments from the series alongside the caption, "Team Kelly has RE-entered the chat." The post declared, "Kelly Clarkson returns as a Coach this fall on The Voice!"
A separate post reiterated Kelly's thrilling return, asking viewers to "Please give a warm welcome back to Coach Kelly Clarkson!" as she joins fellow coach Adam Levine for the upcoming season. Although Kelly hasn't coached a regular season in three years, the 44-year-old did serve as a judge on the special season 29—dubbed The Voice: Battle Of Champions—alongside Adam and John Legend. The landmark season, which premiered on February 23rd, debuted an updated format with more twists—like a Triple Turn Competition and Super Steals—as well as visits from guest judges like CeeLo Green.

After Team Adam took home the grand prize on Champions, he’s returning again for season 30 to try to continue his winning streak. "I will be back," the Maroon 5 singer revealed to People in April. "I'm having so much fun doing it. Since I came back a few seasons ago, it's just been a blast, and I'm super happy to keep it going as long as they'll have me."
The Voice season one OG has competed across 18 separate seasons of the competition show, while Kelly has rocked the red chair 10 times before. Despite Adam's advantage regarding his number of seasons on the show, he's tied with the Breakaway singer for season wins. Her return marks a new chapter in her career after announcing the end of The Kelly Clarkson Show on February 2nd. "There have been so many amazing moments and shows over these seven seasons," the singer wrote on Instagram, adding how she was "forever grateful and honored to have worked alongside the greatest band and crew."
In essence, Kelly Clarkson's return to The Voice is not just a return to her roots but also a new beginning for her career. With her vast experience and talent, she is sure to bring new energy and excitement to the show. And with Adam Levine returning as well, it promises to be an exciting season of competition and talent.
