Kelsea Ballerini's heart is heavy with the loss of her beloved canine companion, Dibs. On Thursday, the 32-year-old country singer shared the devastating news of her dog's passing via her Instagram handle, revealing that he had battled cancer for a year before finally taking his last breath.
"My sweet Dibs crossed the bridge to doggy heaven yesterday," Kelsea penned. "In his final days, he spent his time basking in the sunshine in his backyard, surrounded and visited by his forever people."

The "Miss Me More" songstress further elaborated, "There are no words that can fully articulate the role he played in my life, but I couldn't have made it through the last decade without him. He will always be my soul dog...and I pray and believe we'll find each other again in every life that comes our way."
"His love and impact can't be captured in an Instagram photo dump or a mere caption," she continued. "But here's a glimpse of some of the joy he brought into my life. Thank you for loving him as loudly as I did."
Kelsea added, "I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have been his dog mom. He was the greatest gift of my life."
In August 2024, the "If You Go Down" singer revealed that her dog had been diagnosed with inoperable cancer. "Thinking of everyone with a furry friend going through cancer tonight. I truly don't know what my adult life would be like without my Dibby. He's fighting so hard. I love him so much. Any love or healing energy you want to send his way, please do. We really appreciate it," Kelsea wrote on TikTok alongside a clip of her dog licking her face.
