Khloé Kardashian is a steadfast advocate for her family, and her actions never fail to speak louder than words. After enrolling Amari Thompson, the brother of her ex-partner Tristan Thompson, who suffers from a severe form of epilepsy known as Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (LGS), in dance classes, she bravely faced online criticism head-on.
In a video posted to Instagram Stories on December 13th, Khloé shared her frustration with the ridiculous comments she had received, saying, "When I posted Amari in his dance class last time, I heard some absurd commentary like, 'How is this dance? Does he even know what's going on?'" She continued, "All of this unnecessary commentary that I don't need, and no one needs."

The star of The Kardashians went on to urge people to be mindful of their words and not to comment if they don't have a personal understanding of someone with special needs. "If you don't know or you've never had someone with special needs in your life and you don't know what their interests are or what makes them happy, don't comment," she said. "And if you don't like this type of content, you don't have to watch it. We're all good over here."
To further illustrate her point, Khloé posted sweet videos from Amari's classes at Carousel Dance Studio in Los Angeles, California. One video showed the 19-year-old joining in on a High School Musical dance number with the assistance of staff, while another snap featured Amari posing alongside Khloé and his dance instructors. In the caption, Khloé praised the studio's mission, writing, "I'm so thankful for places like this and for human beings like this!"
Recently, Khloé opened up about her decision to become Amari's caretaker after the death of their mother Andrea Thompson. "Tristan's mom and I became such good friends," Khloé explained in the July 30th episode of her Khloe in Wonderland podcast. "I had such a good relationship with Andrea, and I would help her with Amari medically. She would have questions, she would need connections to certain doctors, and I would help with that."
Prior to her death in 2023 from a sudden heart attack, Andrea was Amari's sole caretaker. However, after Andrea's passing, Tristan, who plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers, was granted temporary custody of his younger brother. Despite Tristan's nomadic lifestyle in the NBA, which would have been challenging for Amari due to his frequent seizures, Khloé stepped in to provide him with stability. "It's just not conducive for Amari to be on that many planes," she explained. "He has a handful of seizures a day."
As a result, Amari now stays in LA with Khloé, and she has chosen to take care of him. She has two "sensational caretakers" for Amari whom she adores deeply. Despite her complicated relationship with Tristan, Khloé remains committed to Amari and their shared family history. "I still have this family that I've spent so many years with," she said. "That I have such connections with, that my relationship with Andrea has nothing to do with Tristan. My commitment to her has nothing to do with Tristan."
