Kiefer Sutherland was apprehended in Los Angeles after a physical altercation with a ride-share driver, as per the Los Angeles Police Department. Authorities informed The Hollywood Reporter that they responded to a call about an assault involving a ride-share driver near Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue at approximately 12:15 a.m. on Monday. According to LAPD officers, the suspect entered a ride-share vehicle, assaulted the driver, and made criminal threats against them. Fortunately, neither party sustained any injuries, as per police reports.

Sutherland was later identified as the suspect and was arrested at the scene for making criminal threats, in violation of California Penal Code section 422. The LAPD has stated that this is an ongoing investigation.
On the same day, Sutherland was released from jail on a $50,000 bond, as reported by NBC News. His first court date is set for February 2nd. THR reached out to Sutherland's representative for comment but did not receive a response at the time of publication.
Sutherland, the son of Shirley Douglas and Donald Sutherland, is renowned for his roles in numerous projects such as 24, Stand By Me, Phone Booth, The Lost Boys, Mirrors, Melancholia, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, Crazy Moon, Bright Lights, Big City, Flashback, The Flatliners, and A Few Good Men. He has also won two Emmys for his role as Jack Bauer in the drama series 24, where he portrayed a counter-terrorism agent who races against time to thwart terrorist plots and save his nation from disaster.
