Kim Kardashian Appears to Comment on Ex-Husband Kanye West’s Changes During Marriage: ‘You Can’t Live With the New Person’

Since initiating divorce proceedings against her ex-husband, Ye (formerly known as Kanye West), in 2021, Kim Kardashian has maintained a discreet silence regarding her former marriage, their joint parenting endeavors for their four children, and her potential feelings towards West's repeated, publicly explosive outbursts, which have featured days-long hate-filled antisemitic tirades. However, during Thursday's (Feb. 13) installment of The Kardashians, Kim shed some light on the possible reasons behind the dissolution of her marriage while bonding over marital woes with her sister Khloé.

Following an emotional reunion with her ex-husband, retired NBA star Lamar Odom, after nine years of separation, Khloé confessed that she had married Odom "too hastily." Despite their marriage lasting only five tumultuous years, Khloé emphasized that she wouldn't alter her decision to marry the man she deemed the "love of my life," lamenting that if it weren't for Odom's widely reported battles with substance abuse, they might still be together. "I know I chose the right person at that time," she shared with Kim and their mother, Kris Jenner, during the episode.

Kim seemed to resonate deeply with Khloé's sentiments, seemingly alluding to her own struggles with West. She said, "That's the hardest part. I've experienced it too. When you don't foresee something drastically altering a person's personality, rendering them unrecognizable, and you can never reclaim the person they once were, yet you can't coexist with the new version. I understand."

In a confessional segment, Kim elaborated further, adding, "It's even harder when your marriage ends not due to personal discrepancies but because unforeseen circumstances compel it. When it's not something you planned for, and it's not the outcome you desired, but there's simply no alternative, it makes moving past it all the more challenging."

While the founder of SKIMS never explicitly mentioned West in the Hulu series episode, her words seemed to implicitly refer to their relationship, which culminated in Kardashian filing a petition to be legally single in early 2022, citing West's "emotional distress" caused by sharing "misinformation" about their private family matters.

Though Kardashian was open about West's battle with bipolar disorder during their relationship, the rapper recently claimed that his current wife, Bianca Censori, had informed him that he had been misdiagnosed and might actually be on the autism spectrum.

Kardashian's revelations on the show, taped months prior to its release, emerged mere days after West deleted his X account following a four-day spree of virulent antisemitic posts where he reiterated, "I'm a Nazi" and "I love Hitler," before briefly offering a Nazi swastika-emblazoned shirt for sale on his Yeezy website.

These offensive posts have once again incurred significant professional repercussions for West, who has been condemned by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), fellow artists, and dropped by his booking agent. He has also been sued by a Jewish staffer who alleged that he compared himself to Hitler and threatened her due to her Jewish identity.
