Kim Kardashian is thrilled about her eldest daughter embarking on her career journey, albeit acknowledging that it adds a layer of complexity to her life. In an exclusive clip shared with PEOPLE ahead of the season 6 premiere of The Kardashians on Hulu, the 44-year-old co-founder of SKIMS finds herself discussing the delicate balance between nurturing her 11-year-old daughter North's burgeoning career and her own, amidst a heartfelt conversation with her mother Kris Jenner and sister Khloé Kardashian.
"I thought I was juggling a lot before," Kim admits, seated comfortably with her mom and sister. "Being North's momager now is absolutely surreal. It was never on my radar. It wasn't even on my bingo card for this year!" she laughs, a hint of astonishment in her voice.
"It's indeed a herculean task," Kris responds, nodding in agreement. "It demands immense energy and dedication."
"And I'm still not fully prepared," Kim confesses, while Khloé chips in, "You've got your own plate full, Kim." Kim continues, "If North has a shoot, I need to be there throughout the day. It's like a binary choice – her or me."
In a heart-to-heart moment, Kim opens up about the dilemma of prioritizing North's career opportunities over her life experiences. "I'm genuinely torn about my daughter's professional path," the mother of four shares introspectively. "We'll definitely talk about it soon. I just want to ensure everything is perfectly balanced. Work experiences should be counterbalanced with enough fun and life experiences. Balance is key for me."
North's year has been a whirlwind of activities. The daughter of Kim and her ex-husband Kanye West made her debut as Young Simba in a production of The Lion King in May. She also featured on West's song "Talking / Once Again" last February and most recently, lent her voice to FKA twigs' track "Childlike Things."
Earlier in January, Kim appeared on an episode of Erin and Sara Foster's podcast, World's First Podcast, where she candidly discussed stepping into a more hands-on "momager" role as her kids grow older. Regarding North, Kim revealed, "She'll get offers for photo shoots or other things. We sit down and discuss it as a family."
"We ponder over whether she should take it up, what's too much, and what's just right," she elaborated. Kim mentioned how she feels compelled to take her kids to school despite her hectic work schedule, finding herself in the throes of "morning madness."
"It's written in my contracts – no matter what, I have to take my kids to school," she shared. "That's my sacred time with them. It's chaotic but lovely. And when they have work commitments and I need to be there, I have to oversee every little detail. It has to be worth our while to make such decisions," she continued.
"If North has something important and I need to take a break from filming, it's a family decision. It must be really significant to her," the proud mom added. "I've turned down a lot because it was overwhelming. I'm truly not ready to be a momager, but somehow, I'm being nudged into this role."
The highly anticipated sixth season of The Kardashians premieres on Hulu on Thursday, February 6, at 12 a.m. EST.
