Kim Kardashian has opened up about the demise of her marriage to Kanye West, candidly admitting that at times, the relationship was "toxic." In an episode of the "Call Her Daddy" podcast released on Wednesday, Kardashian shared that the marriage, which saw West later change his name to Ye, reached a point where there was a "lack of stability" that left her feeling unsafe.

"There were just so many things I couldn't deal with," she said, referencing her relationship with the controversial rapper and fashion designer. "I didn't like the feeling of... someone talking badly about my kids' grandmother, aunts," she added, referring to her mother Kris Kardashian and sisters Kourtney, Khloe, Kendall, and Kylie. "If someone feels that way, then we shouldn't be together," she stated firmly.

The couple tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in Italy in 2014, but Kardashian filed for divorce in 2021. She remembered feeling "just not safe, not even physically but emotionally or even financially." She recalled instances when West, who has spoken about being diagnosed with bipolar disorder and later with autism, gave away the couple's five Lamborghinis during mental health episodes. "I didn't know what you'd get when you woke up," she said. "It's a really unsettling feeling."

"Lack of stability was a big thing," Kardashian added, describing how she initially tried to support West but grew frustrated. "When someone has their first mental break, you want to be super supportive and help figure it out. But when someone isn't willing to make changes that I think would be healthy and beneficial, it makes it really hard to continue in a relationship that can be toxic."

Kardashian also spoke about weighing the impact of leaving West on their four children, North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. "You really have to take your time and wait and see if there will be changes," she said. "But once you get to a point where you feel like it's not going to change or get better, then you have to make some serious choices on what you're going to do. It's a really hard reality to face."
