Kris Jenner is determined to stay in the loop when it comes to her daughters' romantic endeavors. However, things don't always unfold as she envisions, as revealed by Kim Kardashian, who recounted the story of being set up on a blind date by her mother—completely unbeknownst to her. "She instructed me to head to The Ivy restaurant, and this was before we ever had *Keeping Up with the Kardashians*," Kim, 44, shared during a September 24 interview on *The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon*. "It turned out to be a TV executive. My mom told me it was a job interview, while she told him it was a date."
"I arrived and started discussing my career aspirations," the founder of SKIMS continued. "I even had my resume with me. I guess she didn't anticipate me being so prepared to bring one." Kim revealed that it only took a couple of minutes for her to catch on to her mother's scheme, and she had just one thought: "I realized what was going on," she quipped. "I stuffed the resume in my purse and thought, 'I'm going to kill you.'"
While Kim believed the date was just as clueless about the setup as she was, Kris quickly clarified that he was fully aware. "He totally knew," Kris said with a laugh from offstage, before Kim cut her off, hinting that the date was "Emmy award-winning."
The matriarch even joked about their pre-date conversation. "He said, 'Would it help if I brought my Emmy with me?'" Kris shared. "He was joking, of course, but I thought, 'This is never going to work.'"
Kim—who was married to Kanye West for seven years until their divorce in 2022—hasn't completely lost faith in Kris's judgment when it comes to potential suitors, adding, "I would trust her advice."
Although her sister Khloe Kardashian hopes she wouldn't seek dating advice from her, noting from offstage, "I'm not a good picker."
As for Kim's current love life? The *All's Fair* star—who shares children North, 12, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6, with Kanye—admitted that she's not dating at the moment. When asked if her four children are still drawing up lists of potential dates for their mom, Kim conceded, "They're still doing that."
Kim previously recalled how her four little matchmakers tailor their suggestions to align with their own unique interests. "They're so particular. They make lists," the *Kardashians* star told Jimmy during an August 2024 interview. "Saint wants me to date any basketball player or soccer player, and I'm like, 'If you only knew.' Some of my kids want me to be with streamers. They have lists, and they try to sneakily set me up. And I'm like, 'Guys, this just isn't what I want right now.'"
