Kim Kardashian is musing over a bit of drama that's been swirling around her family's recent past. More than two months after Kris Jenner celebrated her 70th birthday with a lavish bash in November, Kim revealed the reason behind the disappearance of photos from the event, which featured guests like Meghan Markle and Prince Harry from social media. "It was actually quite innocent, which is so peculiar," Kim told her sister Khloe Kardashian during an appearance on her podcast, "Khloe in Wonder Land." "Mom and Meghan have been friends for several years now, and they share a truly sweet bond."
The 45-year-old explained that she and Kris had been going through photos from the party to share when they were told that the photos featuring the royal couple were "completely fine to post." In fact, Kim emphasized that her family is "never one to post anything without permission." As she sees it, Meghan and Harry may have had a change of heart afterward.

"I think they realized it was Remembrance Day," she continued, referring to the U.K.'s Nov. 11 holiday honoring members of the armed forces who have died in service. "They didn't want to be seen at a party, even though it was already up and then taken down. And then I think they realized, like, 'Oh, this was so silly.'"
And while Meghan and Harry—who share kids Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 2—had been at a Baby2Baby gala before heading to Kris' party, Kim speculated that the birthday gathering, in contrast, was too celebratory. "That was fine," she said of the fundraiser, "but maybe not partying and dancing on the dance floor or whatever."
"So, we took them down," Kim said, "to show respect for Remembrance Day."
Overall, though, the SKIMS founder regrets that the whole situation—which she and her family have now dubbed "Photogate"—was blown out of proportion. "I hated how that was received for everyone," she added. "It was just turned into something so crazy and ridiculous that didn't have to be."
But while the photo situation caused some drama, it should come as no surprise that Meghan and Harry were among the A-list attendees: The couple has become good friends with the Kardashians since they moved to California in 2020. In fact, Meghan sent Khloe and Kris gifts from her As Ever brand last summer, including a wooden box with three bottles of the brand's Napa Valley Rosé. Alongside the sweet gift, Kris expressed her gratitude, writing, "Thank you @meghan @aseverofficial."
