KJ Apa has had his fill of the fantasy. In fact, after the singer known as Mr. Fantasy—with whom the Riverdale star shares a striking resemblance—released his latest music video featuring several of KJ's close friends, the actor appeared to call out Mr. Fantasy for damaging his career and stealing his image. "Enough is enough," KJ, 28, wrote in a May 7 Instagram video. "I won't sit back any longer and watch someone attempt to ruin my life and everything I've worked for."
The Map That Leads to You star began by saying that there has been something going on for a long time that he hasn't addressed because he didn't think it was worth addressing. But now, because of how it's impacting his life personally, he feels compelled to talk about it. "I don't usually do this, take things here to talk about, but I have to do it now because it's hurting me and my career," he said.

With a straight face, the actor appeared to slam Mr. Fantasy—who some believe is actually KJ in disguise—for insinuating a connection between them. "There was recently a music video that was released that included a bunch of people who are really close to me," he said. "by a guy who's completely and utterly stolen my image and misappropriated my image and my likeness."
He was referring to Mr. Fantasy's new music video for the track "Do Me Right," which features cameos from many of the New Zealand native's famous friends, including his Riverdale costars Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, and Madelaine Petsch. But according to KJ, Mr. Fantasy having his friends star in a music video is just the tip of the iceberg. The 28-year-old said the "Catapult" singer is negatively impacting his career.
"We all know who we're talking about, and it's f--ked up," KJ explained. "It's f--ked up because I just lost out on a huge job, and can no longer go in for serious work because people think that I'm a joke because of this guy."
"I don't know what to do about it other than bring it here and do everything that I can to protect myself," he added. "Because it's completely f--king disrespectful and completely wrong to do that."
Because of this, the Songbird actor felt that he had to speak out. "If anyone out there thinks that it's OK to take someone's image, literal tattoos, and use it for their own success, that's completely wrong," KJ said. "I can't just sit back and watch it happen and see my life, literally, everything that I've worked hard for now come to a halt because of this f--king idiot."
He concluded his video by taking one last shot at Mr. Fantasy, saying, "This person advocates for positivity and for kindness, and for all of the stuff. Look in the mirror and tell yourself that you're not a f--king liar and a thief, because that's exactly what you are. That's it."
