Kristen Wiig is set to star alongside Jonah Hill in Warner Bros.' upcoming comedy feature, "Cut Off," where they will portray a pair of spoiled siblings. Hill, who also takes the director's chair, has scheduled the film for a global theatrical premiere on July 17, 2026. The screenplay, co-penned by Hill and Ezra Woods, is being overseen by Jesse Ehrman and Zach Hamby at the studio, with production slated to commence this autumn.
"Cut Off" revolves around two siblings whose wealthy parents abruptly cut off their financial support. Hill, along with Matt Dines and Ali Goodwin, produces the film under the Strong Baby banner.
Prior to this, Hill wrapped up production on Apple's "Outcome," scheduled for release in spring 2026. The film, also starring Keanu Reeves, Cameron Diaz, and Matt Bomer, is produced by Hill through Strong Baby, alongside Dines and Goodwin.
Strong Baby is also responsible for Amazon and A24's "Overcompensating," led by Benito Skinner. Meanwhile, Wiig executive produces and stars in Apple's "Palm Royale," which is set to debut its second season this fall, following her Emmy nomination for its inaugural season. She also stars as the villain in Universal Pictures' "Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie," scheduled to hit theaters on September 26.
Hill's directing credits include "Mid90s" and the Netflix documentary "Stutz." His recent on-screen appearances span "You People," "Don’t Look Up," "The Beach Bum," and "Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot."
Wiig is represented by CAA and Karl Austen, while Hill is repped by WME, LBI, and legal representatives Kevin Yorn and Todd Rubenstein from Yorn Levine. Variety was the first to report on Wiig's involvement in the project and the film's release date.
