The makeup moguls recently shared a heartwarming best-friend moment, using each other’s lip products while getting glammed up in the car. In a TikTok video posted by Kylie on September 15, the 28-year-olds can be seen sporting nearly identical outfits—Kylie in a sleek black v-neck tank and Hailey in a crisp white v-neck tank—as they apply lipstick in unison to craft matching makeup looks. Kylie captioned the video, set to the upbeat tune of Hailey’s husband Justin Bieber’s song “Speed Demon,” with the hashtag “besties who lip combo.”
It appeared that the duo was using a lip liner from Hailey’s Rhode brand, as well as another lip liner from Kylie Cosmetics. Their fans were clearly thrilled at the idea of a collaboration between the two makeup companies. “Rhode X Kylie Cosmetics. We need this!!!” one enthusiastic fan commented on TikTok. Another chimed in, “THE GIRLS NEED A KYLIE COSMETICS X RHODE COLLAB.” Meanwhile, one fan was more intrigued by the specific shades they used, writing, “Okay. But we need to know what shades those are, girls.”
While Kylie and Hailey’s friendship runs deep, they share more than just a passion for makeup. In fact, Kylie was the reason Hailey met her other best friend, Kendall Jenner—at none other than the 2012 premiere of The Hunger Games. “You were friends with Kylie,” Kendall reminisced on a 2021 episode of Hailey’s YouTube series Who's In My Bathroom?. “Then you realized that I was more fun.” Hailey, who shares her 12-month-old son Jack Blues with Justin, responded diplomatically, noting that she loves both sisters. “But you and I became much closer because you started modeling and coming to New York all the time,” she told Kendall, “and I lived in New York and you needed a friend.”
Kendall, 29, laughed in agreement, “Yeah, you were my only New York friend.” As Hailey joked, the two took “that city by storm,” often leading to some very lively discussions about their friendship. “People think we have this really abnormal friendship,” she explained. “Abnormal, like we do all this crazy stuff together. When the reality is we just sit at home and drink wine or watch movies. It’s so normal people don’t even understand how normal it is.”
Plus, having been friends for over a decade means they’ve been there for each other through every twist and turn of life. “I feel like we've both seen each other thrive at different times,” Kendall reflected. “And we've been there for each other through it all and not let it get in the way of our friendship, which I think is really special and important.”
