Kylie Jenner is deeply grieving the passing of a cherished friend, her long-time hairstylist, Jesus Guerrero. A confidential source revealed to PEOPLE magazine that the mogul was left in a state of "utter shock" following Guerrero's abrupt demise. On Sunday, February 23, Guerrero's family broke the heartbreaking news of his death through their Instagram account, announcing that the talented hairstylist, aged just 34, had left this world too soon.
"Jenner, 27, has been severely impacted by Jesus' passing," an insider shared with PEOPLE. "She is both astonished and deeply distraught. Despite her own emotional turmoil, she is striving to provide unwavering support to his family, extending financial assistance as well." The source further elaborated, "Though she herself is incredibly upset, she understands that the pain is far greater for his loved ones. She wants to alleviate their financial burdens, covering expenses including those pertaining to his funeral arrangements."
Guerrero had a lengthy collaboration with Jenner, recently styling her for Couture Fashion Week in Paris and preparing her for the 2025 Golden Globes. Jenner's most recent Instagram post featuring Guerrero dates back to February 12. In addition to Jenner, Guerrero's celebrity clientele encompassed her sisters, Kendall Jenner and Kim Kardashian, alongside Katy Perry, Rosalía, Demi Moore, Charli XCX, Camila Cabello, Dua Lipa, and Lisa of BLACKPINK.
On February 23, Guerrero's family posted a series of heart-wrenching Instagram Stories, announcing his death and paying a poignant tribute. The cause of his passing remains undisclosed. "Our family extends heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming love and support amidst this challenging period," they captioned a photo of Guerrero sitting serenely on a beach. "Jesus was a radiant beacon of light; we have no doubts that he enriched the lives of everyone he encountered." They continued, "We have been overwhelmed with tears, replaying memories and pondering what more we could have done to keep him by our side."
In another post featuring an image of Guerrero embracing a tree, his family expressed, "Reading everyone's affectionate posts fills our hearts with both warmth and sorrow. If anyone has videos or photos they wish to share with us, we would cherish every frame." Accompanying a final snapshot of Guerrero strolling through the streets of Paris, the message concluded, "We cannot fathom how the world will carry on without his radiant spirit, but we know he will empower us to overcome any obstacle. Rest in Peace, Jesus. You are loved beyond measure."
On a GoFundMe page, Guerrero's younger sister, Gris, shared that her brother had passed away "suddenly and unexpectedly," stating, "It is with profound sadness that we inform the world of Jesus Guerrero's ascension to heaven. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, artist, friend, and so much more." As of February 24, the GoFundMe campaign had surpassed its $80,000 goal, raising over $93,000. The Wall Group, which represented Guerrero, did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.
