Victoria Villarroel knew intuitively when it was time to step away from the Kardashian clan. As Kylie Jenner's former assistant, who served the reality star from 2015 to 2020, she recalled the precise moment both she and Kylie realized it was time for her to move on. She shared this with Kylie's BFF and podcast cohost, Stassie Karanikolaou, recalling it "as if it were yesterday."
"This was around year five," Victoria explained on the March 18 episode of "Better Half with Stas and Vic." "Me and Kylie, obviously, we had a professional relationship. But you can't help but grow close to someone you see every day, know everything about, and are with them through thick and thin. You just become close to this person."

As the 34-year-old shared, she and Kylie were in the kitchen when the Kardashian star mentioned she needed her laptop, which was upstairs. "And I was like, 'Oof, who's gonna get that?'" Victoria laughed. "'I don't want to go get your laptop.'" It was then that they both realized it was time for Victoria to move on to a new endeavor. And Victoria is grateful for how kind Kylie was throughout the entire process.
"She was amazing. I remember being so nervous and thinking, like, 'Am I making the right decision? What if I'm leaving the best thing - the best job I could ever have?'" Victoria said. "'Cause people were in my ear being like, 'You're gonna leave? People would die for this job.'" But as Kylie, 28, told her, "'Oh my god, Vic, I want you to thrive, and I'm gonna be here supporting you. And I love you so much.'"
Before taking on the role as Kylie's assistant, Victoria had been an intern at Teen Vogue and later joined Jenner Communications as an office manager, which led to her job with Kylie. And while she was originally assistant to both Kylie and her sister Kendall Jenner, Victoria admitted on the podcast that "it became too difficult to do both of them at the same time."
At the time, Kylie was launching Kylie Cosmetics, so it made sense for Victoria to continue on with her, especially because she had more of a "creative role" on top of assistant duties. Of course, she made sure not to leave Kendall in the lurch, joking that she "gave Kendall" her sister Sofia Villarroel.
"I told Kendall, I was like, 'Please don't hate me. I have a peace offering: my sister, my DNA,'" she laughed. "'Basically, you get me, but you probably will like her more because she's way more like you.'"
