As for why she wanted to keep the second health scare private, she explained, “My second cancer diagnosis came in early 2021. I was able to keep it to myself…unlike the first time.” She added, “Thankfully, I got through it again. And all is well. Who knows what’s around the corner, but pop music nurtures me.”

However, the 57-year-old singer-songwriter admitted that she wanted to share her journey with her fans but was waiting for “the right moment.” She considered revealing it when she returned to music in 2023 with the release of her hit single "Padam Padam." Kylie shared her thoughts, stating, “I didn’t feel compelled to tell the world, and actually, I just couldn’t at that time because I was a mere shell of a person. I didn’t want to leave the house again at one point.”

She further added, “'Padam Padam' opened so many doors for me, but on the inside, I knew that cancer wasn’t just a momentary setback in my life. I really just wanted to say what happened so I can let go of it. I’d sit through interviews and every opportunity I thought, ‘Now’s the time,’ but I kept it to myself.”

Kylie also shared that making a docuseries on her life "meant looking back at so many pivotal moments" she lived through.
