On Sunday, Billboard confirmed a monumental achievement for Lady Gaga as her album "Mayhem" soared to the coveted number one spot on its prestigious Top 200 Albums Chart, marking her seventh album to reign supreme in her storied career. According to Luminate, "Mayhem" made a splash with an impressive 219,000 total units, fueled by an astronomical 108.05 million streams and 136,000 traditional sales. This triumph adds to Gaga's already impressive string of chart-topping successes, with her collaboration with Bruno Mars, "Die With A Smile," spending five weeks at the pinnacle of the Hot 100 earlier this year.

"Mayhem" serves as Gaga's first solo venture since 2020's "Chromatica," which similarly topped the charts and gave birth to the hit "Rain On Me" alongside Ariana Grande. This latest achievement marks Gaga's fifth consecutive solo album to claim the albums chart throne. In addition to her solo efforts, Gaga has also ascended to the charts with her joint project with Tony Bennett, "Cheek to Cheek," and the soundtrack for "A Star is Born."

Elsewhere on the album chart, Blackpink member Jennie's solo debut, "Ruby," made a strong entrance at number seven with 56,000 units.

Over on the Hot 100, Kendrick Lamar and SZA's "Luther" continued its reign for a fourth consecutive week, according to Billboard, having securely occupied the top spot since dislodging Lamar's "Not Like Us" at the month's outset. Gaga and Mars' "Die With A Smile" settled into the runner-up position this week.

With this week's charts settled, anticipation builds towards next Sunday, where Playboi Carti's "Music" is poised to be a formidable contender for the number one debut. This marks Carti's first new album since 2020 and boasts an All-Star lineup of collaborators, including Lamar, The Weeknd, Future, and Travis Scott, among others. Spotify recently announced that "Music" shattered the record for the most-streamed album in a single day in 2025, setting the stage for a potentially historic debut.
