On Monday, the grieving family of the late actress Kim Sae-ron initiated legal action against a YouTuber, accusing him of disseminating untruthful assertions concerning their deceased loved one. Bu Ji-seok, the legal counsel for Kim's family, submitted a formal complaint to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, charging Lee Jin-ho, the proprietor of the Behind Master YouTube channel, with defamation.
Lee has been prolific in posting numerous videos about Kim following her DUI incident in 2022. Her family alleges that he unjustly accused the actress of falsely portraying herself as actor Kim Soo-hyun's girlfriend after she shared a snapshot of them together on social media. Bu further revealed that the family intends to pursue additional complaints against the YouTuber, targeting other videos of his as well.
Tragically, Kim was discovered deceased at her residence in eastern Seoul on February 16th, aged just 24. Last week, another YouTube channel, Hoverlab, claimed in a telephone interview with Kim's mourning family that she had been in a romantic relationship with Kim Soo-hyun for six years, starting from when she was just 15. Initially, the actor's agency refuted these allegations but subsequently conceded that the pair had been in a romantic liaison for approximately a year after Kim had reached adulthood.
