The elder sibling of the deceased actress and singer, Sulli (Choi Jin-ri), has vociferously demanded a transparent and unequivocal statement from actor Kim Soo-hyun and filmmaker Lee Sa-rang, alias Lee Ro-be, who helmed the 2017 cinematic venture titled "Real." On a Friday, Choi, Sulli's brother, shared a screenshot of a news article across social media platforms, accompanied by a poignant caption: "Gold, I implore you to swiftly furnish the answer I seek, not the words convenient for you to utter."
Prior to this, Choi had penned heartfelt yet accusatory words: "Six long years have passed since I bid farewell to my sister. Six years during which you interacted with her. Six years that have brought unrelenting sorrow upon you. May you not falter too soon."
On the same day, Sports Kyunghyang published a statement from Choi, a testament to his grief intertwined with resolve. "Amid six years of profound mourning and tears, I have been deeply grateful for the unwavering support and compassion shown by numerous individuals. However, I cannot remain indifferent to the tragic demise of Kim Sae-ron, treating it as a distant occurrence. My heartfelt condolences extend to Kim Sae-ron's bereaved family," the statement read.
Choi specifically scrutinized a particular aspect: "A bedroom sequence during the production of 'Real' in 2017." He elaborated, "Much of this information remains shrouded in secrecy, and the precise facts are elusive. I have heard whispers that despite assertions of illness preventing her attendance, a body double was indeed present on set. Given the absence of the individuals concerned, verification becomes arduous. Yet, I earnestly solicit Kim Soo-hyun and the then-director Lee Sa-rang (Lee Ro-be) to elucidate their stances."
He further recounted, "During Sulli's funeral, I gleaned from staff members and co-actors that the bedroom scene involving Sulli and Kim Soo-hyun was originally less graphic in the script. I long to hear Kim Soo-hyun's perspective on this matter. Additionally, I am aware of a nude scene employing a body double, with the latter actually present on set. Why, then, was Sulli persuaded to perform the scene herself? Why was she coerced into filming those intimate and nude sequences?"
Choi also challenged the narrative that the body double could not attend due to illness. "According to accounts shared by attendees at the funeral, the double was indeed present at the location. Hence, I seek clarification from Kim Soo-hyun and the director regarding the actual sequence of events," he insisted.
"Real," released in 2017, starred Kim Soo-hyun and Sulli, featuring several intense scenes, including nudity. Notably, Lee Sa-rang was also a co-founder of Gold Medalist, the current agency of Kim Soo-hyun. According to Sulli's family, she experienced severe psychological turmoil following her involvement in the film.
