Liam Hemsworth's engagement to Gabriella Brooks is nothing short of romantic. The "Hunger Games" actor and the model recently took the plunge after six years of dating, and he's now spilling the beans on his proposal. In an interview with Savannah Guthrie on the October 27th episode of the "Today" show, Liam expressed his "incredible excitement" about taking the next step in their relationship, revealing that he popped the question "a few months ago."
Despite recently vacationing in the Maldives after wrapping up filming on "The Witcher," Liam made it clear that he and Gabriella didn't get engaged there. "We went there recently," he explained. "I finished shooting about three weeks ago and went straight to a tropical island to let my hair down...or should I say, took my hair off."
Regardless of where it happened, the "Last Song" actor and his 29-year-old fiancée couldn't be happier as they embark on this new chapter. "But no, we're super excited," he gushed. "It's a happy time in life."
Gabriella first announced their engagement with a black-and-white photo of herself and Liam, draping her arms around his shoulders while flashing her brand new diamond ring on her left hand. In a September 12th Instagram post, she also included a photo of waves and one of her hand that gave a closer look at her sparkler.
The couple first caught the public eye back in 2019 when Liam introduced Gabriella to his parents. While they tend to keep their personal lives private, a source close to Liam—who was previously married to Miley Cyrus until their divorce in 2019—shared with E! News at the time, "His relationship with Gabriella is very different from Miley. They like the same things and have the same lifestyle." They also occasionally post about each other on social media, like in January when Gabriella gushed about Liam on Instagram to celebrate his 35th birthday, captioning a carousel of pictures with a yellow heart and the message, "Happy Birthday to my sunshine."
