Liam Payne, in a seemingly desperate bid to exit his hotel room via the third-floor balcony, tragically plunged to his death in Argentina. According to TMZ, a compilation of witness testimonies, surveillance footage, a 911 emergency call, and the police report all converge to support this harrowing narrative.
TMZ secured surveillance footage from the lobby of the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, captured mere moments before the singer's untimely demise. The clips depict a chaotic scene where Liam, amidst reports of erratic behavior and disturbances in the hotel's main area, was being escorted back to his room by three hotel staff members. Despite his 31 years, Liam fiercely resisted as the employees attempted to physically restrain him and force him inside his room – a setting he had openly resented, reminiscent of his confined days with One Direction.
The footage reveals an employee utilizing a master key to unlock Liam's door, swiftly placing him back within its confines. TMZ further alleges that Liam had a history of balcony escapades, citing a September incident where he allegedly utilized a garden hose to descend from a rental home in Florida.
The 911 call from Argentina painted a picture of staff members' mounting concerns, expressing to the operator, "I'm unsure if his life is in danger. He's in a room with a balcony, and, honestly, we're quite害怕." Despite these apprehensions, Liam was left unattended in his room. Sources close to TMZ contend that the hotel's priorities were misplaced, focusing more on quelling the lobby disturbance than ensuring Liam's safety.
Upon discovering Liam's body, authorities noted a hat atop his head – one not seen in the lobby surveillance footage – and a shoulder bag, which he hadn't carried previously, suggesting his intentions to flee with his belongings via the balcony. Additionally, a police report unveiled another of Liam's bags on the second-floor balcony, containing a note addressed to him, pills, and a bottle of Jack Daniel's. It is speculated that he dropped this bag as he attempted to descend to the second floor, possibly to facilitate an easier leap to the ground.
When reached for comment, the hotel offered a curt "No comment."
Liam's autopsy report revealed that he succumbed to "multiple trauma" and "both internal and external hemorrhages" resulting from his fatal fall. Alcohol and drugs were detected in his system at the time of death. The coroner's findings dismissed any possibility of self-harm, stating, "All injuries sustained by Payne align with those caused by a fall from a height, ruling out any form of self-inflicted harm." Moreover, the report excluded "a conscious or voluntary act" on Liam's part, asserting, "In his impaired state, he neither knew nor understood his actions."
