Liam Payne's mortal remains have finally journeyed back home. After nearly a month since the tragic demise of the One Direction singer, who plummeted from a third-story balcony at a Buenos Aires hotel, his body was airlifted to the United Kingdom, as confirmed by an Argentinian official to the BBC. On November 6th, following the conclusion of the toxicology report and lab tests conducted by local authorities after his passing on October 16th, public prosecutor Andrés Madrea disclosed to the media that Liam's family had been released his body.

Attempts by E! News to reach out to Liam's representative and Andrés Madrea remained unanswered. According to a statement from Argentine officials, Liam's autopsy revealed that he succumbed to internal and external bleeding caused by the fall. While the definitive results are still pending, a preliminary toxicology report, as shared by a police spokesperson with the New York Times, indicated the presence of multiple drugs, including a cocktail of MDMA, ketamine, and methamphetamine—colloquially known as pink cocaine—in the "For You" singer's system at the time of his death.

On November 6th, authorities confirmed to ABC World News Tonight that three unnamed individuals of interest in connection with Liam's death had been apprehended by the police. The outlet reported, "Police detained two hotel workers accused of furnishing the drugs and raided the residence of a friend, who was also taken into custody."

Following the harrowing news of his son's demise, Liam's father, Geoff Payne—who shares Liam, as well as daughters Ruth Gibbins and Nicola Payne, with his wife Karen Payne—hastily flew to Argentina. On November 5th, Geoff visited a memorial set up for Liam at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel, captured in a video shared on X (formerly Twitter). There, he lit a candle and laid down a rose in tribute before repatriating to England the subsequent day with his deceased son's body.

"I feel incredibly fortunate to have seen him recently," Niall penned in a statement dated October 18th. "Little did I know that after bidding him farewell with a hug that evening, it would be our eternal goodbye. It is truly heart-wrenching."
