Lindsie Chrisley Arrested on Suspicion of DUI and Attempting to Elude Police in Georgia

On the evening of May 23rd, around 10:25 p.m., Lindsie Chrisley, a former star of "Chrisley Knows Best," was arrested in Georgia. According to records reviewed by PEOPLE, the 36-year-old was booked into the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office that evening and later released after posting bond in the early morning hours of May 24th. Official records indicate that she left at approximately 4:15 a.m.

The Cherokee County Jail confirmed that Chrisley was arrested for DUI less safe, attempting to elude police, improper passing, reckless driving, and speeding. In Georgia, DUI less safe means that an individual can face charges of driving under the influence even if their blood alcohol concentration is below 0.08%. Bails were set at $1,355 for DUI less safe, $680 for improper passing, $565 for reckless driving, and $2,006 for speeding.

Chrisley addressed the incident in comments to TMZ, who was first to report the news. "I got pulled over speeding past a car on a two-lane road because they almost hit an animal and I was trying to miss hitting them and whatever the animal was," Chrisley told the outlet. She also told TMZ that she plans to "fight the charge."

Representatives for Chrisley did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment. She is the daughter of TV personality Todd Chrisley and his first wife, Teresa Terry. Last year, Todd and his wife, Julie Chrisley, were released from prison after President Donald Trump granted them full pardons in May.

The Chrisley Knows Best stars were found guilty of tax evasion and bank fraud in November 2022 and sentenced to a combined 19 years, although that was later reduced by about two years each. Lindsie's legal trouble comes just weeks after her boyfriend, David Landsman, was arrested in Georgia on charges of misdemeanor battery and felony aggravated assault/strangulation, according to an arrest warrant affidavit obtained by PEOPLE.

Landsman was booked into the Cherokee County jail on April 10th and later released. According to the affidavit, he is accused of placing his hand around a person's neck and applying pressure while telling the individual they were "not going anywhere." He is also accused of pushing the person out of a Woodstock, Ga., home, causing them to fall and hit their head on concrete.

"When we have a case of that magnitude, our detectives conduct follow-ups and make sure the case is completely investigated," Woodstock Police Department Captain Ron Sinfelt previously told PEOPLE. Following Landsman's arrest, Lindsie revealed on the May 18th episode of her podcast, The Southern Tea, that she's taken a yearlong vow of celibacy.

She explained that she plans to remain "celibate for three hundred and sixty-five days" and not have "conversations with any man." "Genuinely is, like, the healthiest thing in this moment that I could do," she noted.

She was previously married to Will Campbell, with whom she shares a son, Jackson; Chrisley finalized her divorce from Campbell, whom she met in 2009, in 2021 after nearly 10 years of marriage.
