Amelia Gray Hamlin is setting the record straight about her appearance. The model, whose parents are Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin, shared her personal experience with plastic surgery in an interview with Variety published on January 24th. She detailed the cosmetic procedures she's had done—and the ones she hasn't.
"I've always had these lips," she said, noting that she's never used fillers. "I'm currently doing this thing called SkinVive, which is a moisturizer injection, not a filler." In addition to a past rhinoplasty, Amelia, 24, also shared that she once had a breast reduction after a piercing caused an infection. However, the decision eventually led to serious complications.
"I was dating somebody who was older than me when I was younger, and I allowed his beauty perception to affect my choices," she explained. "I decided to get another breast augmentation because I wasn't necessarily happy with the scarring that I was left with from the reduction. I woke up in a state that I didn’t agree to. We can just say that it didn’t go well."
The procedure soon led Amelia—who makes her acting debut in the new Hulu body horror series The Beauty—to need emergency surgery because, as she recalled, "My breasts literally could not handle what were put in me."
"It got to the point where I couldn’t even pump soap because the implants were pushing on the nerves," she continued. "I ended up having to get a 14-hour reconstruction surgery."
Amelia previously reflected on the operation in 2020, revealing that she was "12 hours away from going into sepsis" when she sought medical treatment for the infected piercing at age 16.
"I already had the strep living in my system and then it went to [the breast] because it was an open wound," she said on the Skinny Confidential: Him and Her podcast at the time. "When I tell you... my boobs were this big. It's a real thing. And I didn't just get those down naturally... I had to fully get surgery."
Having overcome the ordeal, Amelia revealed that she had "never talked about" the surgery at the time, joking, "I think my mom’s gonna kill me."
