Brittany Wisniewski has dipped her toes back into the dating scene. Eight months after publicly unveiling her romance with musician Mod Sun, the "Love Is Blind" star has revealed that the pair parted ways in April.
"To set the record straight, Mod and I have taken different paths," Brittany confided in a statement to People, published on July 23. "We shared some unforgettable moments, and I am deeply grateful for those experiences. However, I now find myself in a fresh chapter, eagerly anticipating what lies ahead."
The 33-year-old elaborated, "I am thrilled at the prospect of focusing on my passions, continuing my personal growth, and, yes, venturing into the dating world once more. There's nothing more invigorating than embarking on a new journey."
Brittany further noted in her statement that, despite their April split, she and Mod Sun—formerly engaged to Avril Lavigne—have "spent some time together" since then. She attributed their breakup largely to the physical distance between them, explaining, "We grew apart, primarily due to that distance." These casual gatherings had prevented her from publicly addressing their breakup until now.
Just weeks before Brittany confirmed her relationship with Mod Sun (real name Derek Ryan Smith), season seven of "Love Is Blind" premiered, showcasing her engagement to Leo Baudy within the pods. However, their love story took a different turn before they could walk down the aisle, as they called it quits during a post-filming trip to Miami.
"The chemistry just wasn't there," she shared with People in October. "We had a heart-to-heart at the beginning about how this could work, but as time went on during the trip, the chemistry faded, and we mutually agreed it wasn't meant to be."
Despite their breakup, Brittany and Leo maintain a cordial relationship. "We communicate well, so it wasn't a big drama," she continued. "It was a respectful and clear realization. Leo ticked many boxes for what I wanted in a partner. He's just not 'the one' for me."
