Lauren Speed-Hamilton and Cameron Hamilton expanded their family pod with the arrival of their first child together, a boy named Ezra William Hamilton, on October 1st. The couple, who met and fell in love during the first season of Netflix's Love Is Blind in 2018, shared the joyous news on October 20th with a heartfelt Instagram post.
"To God be the GLORY!" Lauren, 37, wrote, sharing that their little one arrived "a little earlier than planned, but perfectly on God’s time." After an unexpected turn with preeclampsia and a few days in the hospital, they've been taking things slow, healing, resting, and soaking up all the love.
The birth announcement was accompanied by sweet photos of the couple holding their son and Lauren cuddling him in the hospital bed. There was also a snapshot of her manifestation journal, in which she had written, "Ezra William Hamilton will be born healthy and strong in 2025."
Their new arrival comes after years of fertility struggles and multiple rounds of IVF. "It's been a long time coming," Lauren told People in May after announcing they were expecting. "We've literally been trying to get pregnant for four years." The news that baby Ezra was on the way made them feel like their long journey was worth it. "Seeing the word pregnant, it was amazing," Lauren gushed at the time. "We just looked at each other. I fell to my knees and cried." Cameron, 34, added, "That was just a huge moment, to actually see the word pregnant on the test."
The couple first opened up about their fertility struggles back in October 2024 on their podcast, The Love Seat. Lauren explained how while she prefers to be open, discussing this topic was not the easiest for her. However, she wanted to be as transparent as possible due to it being a struggle that so many face. "I like to share a lot of things but this is one that's still kind of tough," she said. "But I think it's so important to talk about it so that you can see yourself in the conversation we're about to have."
Lauren also detailed how the challenge had made her bond with Cameron even stronger than appearing on a reality series could. "In marriage or any type of relationship, when you go through something that's big and heavy or weighs on your heart, it creates a bond," she said. "I think it's actually made us stronger." While Cameron jumped in to research IVF and fertility, his priority was simply to "be there to support."
"As men, our first instinct, it seems, is to want to fix things," he emphasized. "I think that is important. But even more important than that is turning toward your partner and their emotions." Ultimately, their mutual love and support helped them grow as husband and wife. "It has affected us as a couple because it has made us feel more connected," Lauren explained. "We support each other. We're more in tune now." Cameron echoed the sentiment and emotionally shared his gratitude for Lauren going on this journey with him. As he put it, "You showed me a new level of love that I'd never seen before."
