Amaya "Papaya" Espinal, the seventh season winner of Love Island USA, is currently battling for her health. According to E! News, the 27-year-old reality TV star was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery over the weekend due to abdominal pain. She remains hospitalized in a Los Angeles facility, as multiple reports confirm.
Following the procedure, Amaya offered a glimpse into her recovery journey. On December 17, she shared an Instagram Story of herself in her hospital room holding a note placed in front of a bouquet of flowers. The note read, "Your friends at ITV and Beyond the Villa are thinking of you and wishing you a speedy recovery." Amaya simply captioned the post with a series of heart emojis and a teary-eyed emoji.
But Amaya's recent health battle is not the only significant change in her life recently. In July, she announced that she and Bryan Arenales had ended their brief romance after winning the reality TV competition and splitting the $100,000 prize. "My papayas—Bryan and I are no longer together," Amaya wrote in an Instagram Stories post on August 27. "After leaving the villa, it became very clear that we were on two different journeys. Our visions didn't align and relationships are supposed to be a team sport." Assuring the world there was no bad blood, she added, "All love here, and I truly wish him the best."
