The McCords' offscreen romance has been made official. Téa Leoni and Tim Daly, who portrayed the on-screen spouses Elizabeth McCord and Henry McCord in the CBS series "Madam Secretary" from 2014 to 2019, tied the knot following a decade-long courtship, as confirmed by her representative to People on July 14. The couple, who seamlessly transitioned from screen partners to real-life lovers, exchanged vows in an intimate New York ceremony attended solely by their closest family members.
Tim, aged 69, and Téa, 59, crossed paths when the political drama commenced, despite having attended the same exclusive high school a decade apart. Their romance blossomed by the close of 2014, the very year Téa finalized her divorce from "The X Files" actor David Duchovny, her husband of seventeen years. Initially keeping their relationship under wraps, they were spotted together at the Broadway show "It Shoulda Been You" opening in April 2015, shortly before making their red carpet debut as a couple at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, D.C.
In March 2024, Tim, who shares children Sam Daly, 41, and Emelyn Daly, 36, with his ex-wife Amy Van Nostrand, opened up about his bond with Téa, proclaiming, "She's a miracle." He shared on the "Really Famous with Kara Mayer Robinson" podcast, "I never imagined experiencing something like this at my age. I had come to terms with perhaps being alone or engaged in a casual relationship that wasn't too demanding, but then we met, and everything changed. This is the deepest, most enjoyable, and truly intimate relationship I've ever had."
He further elaborated that while his relationship with Téa, who has children West Duchovny, 26, and Kyd Miller Duchovny, 23, with David, may have seemed unexpected, he is incredibly grateful to have her in his life. As he expressed, "It's an immense relief to be able to be my true self and know that someone won't blame or try to change me."
