Maitland Ward slams Sydney Sweeney's 'baby' OnlyFans storyline on Euphoria: 'It's just disgusting and vile'

Euphoria, known for pushing boundaries, has taken its portrayal of the OnlyFans platform to an unprecedented level, according to Maitland Ward. In the season 3 premiere, Sydney Sweeney's character, Cassie, began moonlighting as an erotic model on OnlyFans to pay for her wedding to Nate (Jacob Elordi). The newlyweds subsequently split, and she returned to the platform, escalating the shock value of her titillating content in recent episodes.

One particularly controversial scene featured Sweeney dressed as a baby with pigtails and a pacifier, wearing a sheer dress and sitting spread eagle for the camera. This content directly violates OnlyFans guidelines, insists Ward, a pornographic film star and model who earns six figures a month on the platform.

"There are all sorts of things that you can't do," Ward explained in a TMZ interview. "The whole child-baby thing is so disgusting... You just can't go into that whole underage thing like that. I mean, you can do it to an extent if it's very, very playful, like, you're an adult being childlike or something. But just the way it was handled was so gross and it's just disgusting and vile."

Ward also takes offense to the notion that Cassie's Euphoria storyline is meant to celebrate real-life OnlyFans content creators. The character's "crazy stunts," like dressing up as a dog and drinking from a water bowl, "is making fun of OnlyFans creators."

"It's saying how weird and creepy they are," insisted Ward. "There are so many creators who are really working hard to build their brands every day, and this is really disingenuous."

Maitland is not the only adult-content creator voicing concerns over how Cassie's OnlyFans era is depicted by Sweeney on Euphoria.

"There's just a lot that's ridiculous and cartoonish about it," said Sydney Leathers in an interview with Variety. "There's so much that they have her doing that is not even allowed on OnlyFans, and that alone is infuriating: the age-play stuff where she's dressed as a baby in a diaper, for example. Credit card processors have very strict rules that you have to abide by, and the rules are getting stricter all the time."

Kayla Jade, a sex-positive social media influencer, went on TikTok to blast Euphoria for making it seem like creators "have zero boundaries and will do anything for a bit of money."
