This is Mandy Moore, extending her support to her friends. On the first anniversary of the devastating Los Angeles wildfires that ravaged her home, she took to Instagram Stories to pay a heartfelt tribute to Hilary Duff and her husband, Matthew Koma. She shared her gratitude for the couple, writing: "This feels incredibly fitting as @matthewkoma happens to be one of the most talented and generous humans I’m lucky to know. He literally gave my family a place to stay one year ago today when we had to evacuate."

She addressed her friend, Matthew Bair, by his initials, adding, "Love you MB!!" Mandy’s affection for Hilary is no secret – the two are part of what the A Walk to Remember actress calls a "cool mom group."
In an interview with InStyle in 2022, Mandy spoke about their group, saying, "We all just gathered earlier this week and had dinner. We have baby classes together, and it's incredible." However, this month, the spotlight was on their mom group after Ashley Tisdale publicly shared her experience with a "toxic" mom group that many fans suspected included Hilary and Mandy. Ashley shared photos of the pair with other fellow moms on social media. (Ashley’s rep has denied Mandy and Hilary’s involvement in the "toxic" mom group.)
Ashley wrote on The Cut on Jan. 1, "I remember being left out of a couple of group hangs, and I knew about them because Instagram made sure it fed me every single photo and Instagram Story. I was starting to feel frozen out of the group, noticing every way that they seemed to exclude me." The former Disney Channel star, who is a mother to Jupiter, 4, and Emerson, 16 months old, with her husband Christopher French, said she eventually cut ties with the group because it felt "too high school."
She recalled, "Here I was sitting alone one night after getting my daughter to bed, thinking, ‘Maybe I’m not cool enough.’ All of a sudden, I was in high school again, feeling totally lost as to what I was doing ‘wrong’ to be left out."
Hilary's husband, Matthew, threw shade at Ashley shortly after the essay went viral. He shared a fake magazine cover image on Instagram Story on Jan. 6, with the title reading, "When You’re The Most Self-Obsessed Tone-Deaf Person On Earth, Other Moms Tend To Shift Focus To Their Actual Toddlers." The subhead added, "A Mom Group Tell-All Through A Father’s Eyes."
