Maren Morris is establishing clear boundaries with her devoted fans. Following a recent stop on her "Dreamsicle Tour" in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the talented singer behind the hit "My Church" revealed that a fan had inappropriately touched her during an exclusive meet-and-greet session. On August 23, she took to her Instagram Stories to share, "Tonight's show was a blast, but before the performance, someone violated my personal space by grabbing my behind during the meet-and-greet. I'm determined to continue these interactions, as one person's misconduct shouldn't spoil it for everyone else."

She further elaborated, "Understand that I'm here to forge connections, share experiences, and embrace hugs and all the wonderful things that come with meeting you. But please, respect everyone's personal boundaries. I love you all."

This distressing incident occurred almost two years after Maren, now 35, finalized her divorce from Ryan Hurd, with whom she shares her 5-year-old son, Hayes. The couple had been married for five years before parting ways. While the separation was a challenging period, it served as a muse for her latest album. In an interview with The Cut in May, she revealed, "I'm not chronicling our relationship; rather, I'm documenting the grief, anger, and sadness that followed, along with the vulnerability of re-entering the dating scene and reconnecting with my female friends and myself."

Yet, not all her compositions are steeped in divorce. The singer-songwriter recently disclosed that her son has also been a significant source of inspiration for many of her songs. Speaking to People in March about Hayes, she said, "'Because of Course,' a song from my EP, was definitely inspired by him. And whether a song is directly about him or not, they were all penned after he came into my life. So, whether consciously or not, he has brought a unique perspective to my music."

Apart from navigating co-parenting with Ryan, Maren has been exploring her sexuality since coming out as bisexual last June. As she embarks on this journey, she has found that distinguishing between friendship and romantic involvement can be a delicate task. During an episode of the U Up? podcast in May, she explained, "Sometimes, I get confused because I can establish a deep connection with any woman within minutes. We might dive into conversations about our childhoods or bullying experiences from when we were 13. With men, it often takes years to reach that level of intimacy."

She continued, "This is where I sometimes struggle to differentiate between romance and friendship, because women can connect so swiftly and effortlessly—it's a magical aspect of our bond. However, I guess this highlights the contrast when dating men."
