Apple TV has unveiled a tantalizing glimpse into next year's "Margo's Got Money Troubles," a drama based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Rufi Thorpe. The series stars Elle Fanning and Michelle Pfeiffer as a mother-daughter duo, with the former portraying Margo, an aspiring writer turned recent college dropout, and the latter playing her mother, an ex-Hooter's waitress. In October 2024, it was announced that Nick Offerman, known for his role in "Parks and Recreation," had joined the series as Jinx, Margo's dad, an ex-pro wrestler.

The cast is rounded out by Nicole Kidman, Greg Kinnear, Michael Angarano, Thaddea Graham, Lindsey Normington, Marcia Gay Harden, and Rico Nasty. The official synopsis reads: "A bold, heartwarming, and comedic family drama that follows Margo (Fanning) as she navigates the challenges of parenthood with a new baby, a mounting pile of bills, and dwindling options for payment. Her journey is further complicated by her parents' unconventional backgrounds: her mother was once a Hooter's waitress, while her father was a former pro wrestler (Offerman)."
David E. Kelley serves as showrunner and writer for the A24 show, which is also executive produced by Elle Fanning, Dakota Fanning, and Brittany Kahan Ward for Lewellen Pictures; Kidman and Per Saari of Blossom Films; and Matthew Tinker for David E. Kelley Productions. Pfeiffer, Thorpe, Eva Anderson, and Boo Killebrew also serve as executive producers. Dearbhla Walsh (known for her work on "Bad Sisters" and "The Handmaid's Tale") is directing the pilot episode and also executive producing.
"Margo's Got Money Troubles" marks the latest collaboration between Kelley and Apple TV, following the Emmy Award-nominated drama "Presumed Innocent," which starred Jake Gyllenhaal. The series is currently in production for its second season, with the first three episodes premiering on Apple TV on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. New episodes will be released every Wednesday until May 20, 2026.
