Mark Ruffalo and Tucker Pillsbury, alias Role Model, the esteemed singer-songwriter, are set to share the screen with Natalie Portman in "Good Sex," a heartwarming romantic comedy directed by Lena Dunham for Netflix. Dunham, who delved into the realms of relationships and sexuality through her acclaimed HBO series "Girls," penned the script and is co-producing the film under her Good Thing Going Productions banner alongside Michael Cohen. Meanwhile, Portman and Sophie Mas are producing under their MountainA flag.
"Good Sex" revolves around Ally, a practical couples' therapist portrayed by Portman, who, after a decade-long tumultuous relationship and on the brink of turning 40, reluctantly ventures back into the dating scene of New York City. According to Netflix's captivating logline, Ally's foray into romance takes an unexpected turn when she crosses paths with two vastly different men – one in his twenties and the other in his fifties – who teach her that the essence of good sex defies all conventional norms.
Serving as executive producers are Tim Bevan, Michael Sledd, and Michaela Celella of MountainA. Ruffalo, who recently graced the silver screen in Bong Joon Ho's sci-fi masterpiece "Mickey 17," will next be seen starring in "Task," an anticipated HBO crime drama premiering in September. Represented by UTA and Lighthouse Management, Ruffalo brings his depth of talent to this enchanting project.
Marking his acting debut, Pillsbury, the burgeoning 27-year-old artist celebrated for his minimalist pop tunes, recently released his critically acclaimed album "Kansas Anymore" in July 2024. Having recently parted ways with music management firm Best Friends Music Management, Pillsbury is represented by Paradigm, Wasserman Music, and Myman Greenspan. "Good Sex" promises to be a delightful introduction to his acting prowess, adding another layer to his multifaceted artistic journey.
