Markle shared a compilation of videos featuring Guy, capturing precious moments of the beagle frolicking with Prince Harry and their children, Archie and Lilibet. Guy had first found a loving home with Meghan in 2015, when she adopted him from a dog rescue shelter in Canada. In the caption accompanying her post, she reminisced, "He was once destined for a kill shelter in Kentucky, with mere days left to live. But I swooped in and fell hopelessly in love with him. They nicknamed him 'the little guy' due to his tiny, frail stature, which inspired me to name him Guy. And indeed, he was the perfect companion any woman could ever aspire to have."

Meghan frequently shared glimpses of Guy's life on her personal Instagram page and her website, The Tig. She continued, "He was my steadfast companion through thick and thin—from my days on 'Suits,' to my engagement, wedding, and becoming a mother. He was there for me in every moment, whether it was silence, chaos, calm, or comfort. He suffered a grievous accident shortly before my move to the UK, leading to months of surgeries and confinement in a clinic. Despite doctors' prognosis that he might never walk again, Dr. Noel Fitzpatrick and his team worked tirelessly to restore his mobility. Harry and I made late-night drives to Surrey to visit him during his lengthy recovery."

Meghan extended her heartfelt thanks to Dr. Noel and his team, the staff at Queen West Animal Hospital in Toronto, her current veterinarians, and her friends and community for showering Guy with love. She also announced her new Netflix show, described as a lifestyle program blending "pragmatic advice and heartfelt conversations."

In her post, she added, "As many of you will see Guy in this new series, I hope you come to understand the depth of my sorrow upon his loss. Perhaps you'll even find yourself a bit enchanted by him. I've cried rivers of tears, those that drive you to take a shower, hoping the cascading water might somehow wash away your grief or make it invisible. But they remain, and that's alright too."
