The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute has announced the star-studded lineup of co-chairs for the 2026 Met Gala, set to be a fashion extravaganza like no other. Pop superstar Beyoncé, actor Nicole Kidman, and tennis legend Venus Williams will join forces with fashion icon Anna Wintour to steer the annual gala, a red carpet event that attracts a who's who of the industry. Anthony Vaccarello and actress Zoë Kravitz will co-helm the gala's host committee, an illustrious ensemble that includes Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Gwendoline Christie, Misty Copeland, Sam Smith, Chloe Malle, LISA, Paloma Elsesser, Lauren Wasser, Teyana Taylor, Yseult, Elizabeth Debicki, Lena Dunham, Alex Consani, and artist Anna Weyant.

Meanwhile, Lauren Sánchez Bezos and her husband, Amazon's founder Jeff Bezos, are stepping up as the gala's esteemed sponsors. The event is slated for Monday, May 4, and promises a show that delves into the intricate relationship between garments and the human body. A match-up of 200 museum pieces with 200 garments and accessories will showcase this unique bond.
"For the Costume Institute's inaugural exhibition in the Condé M. Nast Galleries, I wanted to highlight the centrality of the dressed body within the museum," curator Andrew Bolton shares. "Costume Art privileges materiality and the inseparable connection between our bodies and the clothes we wear."
Proceeds from the gala will go towards supporting the Costume Institute's exhibitions, acquisitions, operations, and publications. Last year's Met Gala saw Anna Wintour joined by an impressive line-up of co-chairs including Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, and Pharrell Williams, with LeBron James serving as honorary chair.
