Miley Cyrus and her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, seemingly relished the best of both worlds during their time on the set of "Hannah Montana." On Thursday, June 19th, the now 32-year-old former child star joined her mother, Tish Cyrus, and sister, Brandi Cyrus, for an episode of their podcast, "Sorry We’re Cyrus." During the session, she tackled a series of rapid-fire questions with characteristic wit.

Tish, 58, posed a question that piqued everyone's curiosity: "What’s a core memory from the 'Hannah Montana' days that still cracks you up?" Without missing a beat, the "Flowers" crooner replied, "Dad smoking pot and everyone pinning it on me." Tish burst into laughter, while Brandi, 38, gave her a playful sidelong glance, acknowledging the anecdote. "I do recall that," confessed the actress and DJ.

The father-daughter duo shone brightly in the teenage sitcom that aired on the Disney Channel from 2006 to 2011. Miley recounted the incident as "absolutely hilarious," whereas Tish remembered it slightly differently. Having divorced Billy Ray in 2022 after 28 years of marriage, Tish revealed that she often received calls claiming that the "Achy Breaky Heart" singer was indulging in marijuana, which she steadfastly refused to believe. "I’d say, ‘Absolutely not, he’d never do that,’" Tish emphasized.

Instead, Tish and the "Bangerz" singer fingers pointed towards Miley’s "Hannah Montana" costar, Mitchel Musso, who portrayed Oliver Oken. Musso, however, refuted these claims in a statement to E! News, saying, "Well, that’s not how I remember it. But hey, I’ve got plenty of stories from those years worth discussing. If we’re diving into 'Hannah Montana' history, just say the word. All love to Miley and the fam, even when the rewrites get this creative."

Miley has been making the podcast rounds lately, promoting her "Something Beautiful" album. While on a press tour, she featured on the June 10th episode of the Wondery podcast, "Reclaiming with Monica Lewinsky." During their heartfelt conversation, Miley opened up about her family’s tumultuous past.

"My family and I have been through a really rough… What did you call your decade? A dark decade. Yeah, we had one of those," Miley confided to the activist and author, 51. "Half of us weren’t even speaking to each other at one point, but we’ve mended those fences," continued the "Wrecking Ball" singer. "Rekindling those family ties was crucial for me this year, especially with all the loyalty I had to my mom amidst our parents’ divorce."

"I’ve seen firsthand how unresolved issues can pile up and suddenly, you realize, ‘Oh my God, it’s been a decade, and this is a mess I barely know where to start. It’s like emotional hoarding,’" Miley told Lewinsky, describing her family dynamics. "We’re so chaotic that we didn’t even address it," she later admitted while discussing therapy.

However, she revealed that her family has come a long way, sharing plans to narrate their story through her music. "I’ve even written a song about it that’s not on this album," Miley disclosed. "I’m working on another album, and that’s one of the songs I’m crafting called ‘Secrets.’"

Tish and Billy Ray are parents to three children: Miley, Braison, 31, and Noah, 25. Tish also has two children, Brandi and Trace, 36, from her first marriage to Baxter Neal Helson. Billy Ray adopted Brandi and Trace after tying the knot with Tish in 1993. He also has a son, Christopher, from a previous relationship with Kristin Luckey.
