Millie Bobby Brown has shed light on how she knew that her marriage to Jake Bongiovi was a decision as "right" as it could be. The March cover star of Vanity Fair, renowned for her role in "Stranger Things," revealed that she and Bongiovi entered their marriage with a shared sense of unity. They tied the knot in May 2024, when Brown was 20 and Bongiovi was 22, after being together for three years.
"We delved into our political views, the kind of family we aspired to create, the dream home we envisioned, the relationship we sought, and the careers we yearned for," she recounted. "It was a momentous decision, and we were determined to ensure it was the correct one. For me, it always felt instinctively right with Jake."
She further emphasized that Bongiovi was "the first man I've ever loved, truly and deeply. If we weren't fully committed, what was the purpose? We had to be, and we always have been."
The couple celebrated their union with two weddings: a small, intimate ceremony in May 2024 and a grand affair in Tuscany in September of the same year. Matthew Modine, Brown's co-star from "Stranger Things," officiated their second wedding.
Modine described the wedding as "utterly breathtaking." "I was amazed at how emotional I became during the vows," he added. "I've been a part of Millie's personal and professional life, witnessing her transformation from an adorable child into a stunning and thoughtful adult. I was with her when she first met Jake. Now, she's embarking on a new chapter with such a kind-hearted man."
At their picturesque Tuscan wedding, Brown and Bongiovi shared a moment of unforgettable elegance by executing a meticulously choreographed dance routine to celebrate their special day. "It was a mesmerizing five- to six-minute dance extravaganza," she enthused, adding that they danced to a medley of timeless hits from "Grease," complete with a transformative costume change. "We began our dance in sleek leather jackets and stylish glasses, shedding them with flair as the routine progressed," she reminisced. "I donned a Sandy-inspired jumpsuit, while Jake looked dashing in a cool T-shirt, matching pants, and dazzling footwear, making our big day even more memorable."
In terms of their careers, Brown noted that both she and Bongiovi share a passion for filmmaking. "Jake is driven by creating stories that empower people," she explained. "He shares a similar aspiration with me. I want viewers to feel empowered and supported by my projects."
Looking ahead, Brown is preparing for the final season of "Stranger Things." The actress, who has starred in the hit Netflix series since 2016, wrapped filming for the final season in December.
"It didn't dawn on me until yesterday," Brown reflected on filming the show's penultimate scene. "I was on set, realizing I had just one more day left. And I couldn't help but cry. I'm not one to cry at work. I'm emotional, but I strive to stay strong. It made me incredibly uncomfortable. Jake said, 'It's okay, you need to let it out!' and I just couldn't hold back the tears."
Season 5 of "Stranger Things" is set to release this year.
