The real estate community is immersed in grief following an overwhelming tragedy. On June 19, Southampton Town Police confirmed the heartbreaking death of Sara Burack, a real estate agent featured in Netflix's 'Million Dollar Beach House,' who succumbed to injuries sustained in a hit-and-run accident in New York. She was just 40 years old.
In the wee hours of Thursday, officers received a frantic 911 call reporting a "woman lying" on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays, a picturesque hamlet nestled on Long Island, as revealed in a press release obtained by NBC News. Upon their swift arrival, the police found Burack, later identified, lying unconscious with severe injuries, apparently the victim of a hit-and-run.
According to the release, Burack was promptly rushed to Stony Brook University Hospital, where unfortunately, she was pronounced dead. The Southampton Town Police have initiated a relentless search for the fleeing driver suspected in this tragic incident.
E! News reached out to the authorities for further comment, but as of yet, there has been no response.
Burack first captured the limelight in Netflix's 'Million Dollar Beach House,' a reality show that chronicled the endeavors of a team of realtors from Nest Seekers International, a prestigious real estate firm based in Westhampton, as they secured luxurious listings across the New York area. However, her journey with the agency spanned over a decade before her brief but memorable stint on the show, which aired for one season in late 2020.
In an interview with Hamptons.com in August 2020, Burack shared, "My family runs a commercial construction material sales business, where I spent many years of my life working. Always fascinated by real estate projects, I decided to venture into brokerage after managing a summer property."
Although she briefly diversified her portfolio by selling properties in Manhattan, her heart remained steadfastly in the Hamptons. "I've been spending half the year here for the past 11 years," she continued. "It was only natural for me to transform my passion for real estate into a thriving career."
