Directed by Trier and co-penned by him and his long-standing collaborator, Eskil Vogt (who previously worked together on "The Worst Person in the World" and "Oslo, August 31st"), "Sentimental Value" boasts an illustrious cast including Renate Reinsve ("The Worst Person in the World"), Stellan Skarsgård ("Dune"), Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas ("A Beautiful Life"), and Elle Fanning ("A Complete Unknown").

The film is a poignant comedy-drama that delves into the life of an Oslo-based family, their generations-old home, and the unexpected manner in which the past can resurface and impact their present. This collaboration marks the second time Mubi has partnered with Trier, following the successful distribution of his previous feature, "The Worst Person in the World," in the U.K., Ireland, India, and Turkey.

"Joachim Trier's sixth film is an intimate and deeply moving exploration of familial bonds, cherished memories, and the transformative power of art in fostering reconciliation," Mubi elaborated. The Norwegian director and screenwriter has garnered critical acclaim for his films such as "Reprise" (2006), "Oslo, August 31st" (2011, premiered in Cannes' Un Certain Regard section), "Louder Than Bombs" (2015, selected for Cannes competition), "Thelma" (2017), and the acclaimed "The Worst Person in the World" (2021, premiered in competition at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival).
