Months after the revelation of Dave Grohl's infidelity scandal, the identity of the woman who welcomed a child with him has reportedly come to light. On Friday, February 21, Page Six disclosed that Jennifer Young, a 38-year-old resident of Los Angeles, gave birth to Grohl's baby in August 2024, amidst his marriage to Jordyn Blum. (Us Weekly has reached out to Grohl’s team for a statement regarding the matter.)
Young purportedly requested the publication to keep the name of her and Grohl's child under wraps, citing the presence of "some fiercely enraged fans." She emphasized, "It's crucial to safeguard her identity."
Grohl, who has been married to Blum since 2003, publicly confessed his infidelity and the birth of a child outside his marriage via an Instagram statement in September 2024. (Grohl and Blum are also parents to daughters Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10.) "I have recently become a father to a new baby girl, conceived outside of my marriage," Grohl wrote. "I aim to be a devoted and supportive parent to her. I cherish my wife and my children, and I am making every effort to regain their trust and forgiveness. As we move forward, we appreciate your consideration towards all the children involved."
Despite the scandal, Grohl and Blum were seen together earlier this month. Reports in December 2024 also indicated that the family had intentions to celebrate the holidays together.
Following Grohl's confession, an excerpt from snowboarder Tina Basich's 2003 memoir emerged, accusing Grohl of cheating on her with another woman during their two-year relationship in the 1990s. "I don't understand how anyone in his profession can maintain a normal relationship with a girlfriend… or two, as it turned out," Basich alleged in Pretty Good for a Girl: The Autobiography of a Snowboarding Pioneer. "I found out indirectly, through gossip, when it seemed like everyone else in the world knew about it but me."
Basich sought clarification from Grohl, who reportedly told her "nothing" and ended their relationship. "All I received was a five-minute phone call from him, after five weeks of me calling and trying to reach him because I had to know if these rumors were true and hear it directly from him," she penned.
Prior to his marriage to Blum, Grohl was married to Jennifer Leigh Youngblood in 1994. However, they divorced in 1997 after Grohl confessed to infidelity during their relationship, according to The Guardian. "I was 25, and my wife was even younger. We weren't ready to get married," Grohl told Melody Maker magazine in 1999, following his divorce from Youngblood. "I miss her terribly; she's the funniest, quirkiest person you'll ever meet. Absolutely adorable. It would have been better if we hadn't married. But you live, you learn."
