The search for Nancy Guthrie continues unceasingly. Since the 84-year-old mother of Today anchor Savannah Guthrie was reported missing on February 1st, the Pima County Sheriff's Department has investigated numerous leads, leading to the authorities ruling out "all siblings and spouses" as suspects earlier this month. However, online users have zeroed in on Dominic Evans, who plays in a band with Tommaso Cioni, the husband of Nancy's daughter Annie Guthrie, as a popular theory, alleging that he matches the description of the suspect wearing a ski mask and backpack in the doorbell footage released earlier this month.

Now, the elementary school teacher is speaking out about the harassment he has experienced amid these accusations. "I feel like someone's taken my name," Evans told The New York Times in an article published on February 25th. When asked about the reasons he believes people are accusing him, he noted, "I don't know—monetary gain, clickbait, to be relevant, entertainment—but there are innocent people that get hurt." In response to the online sleuths showing up at Evans' house, where he and his wife say they were with their kids on the night of Nancy's disappearance, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos expressed his sympathies.
"He's going through hell, and it is horrible," the sheriff told the Times. "And I don't know what to tell him except that he probably should be speaking with some attorneys and sue some of these people for libel." Though Nanos emphasized that he didn't want to publicly rule out any suspects beyond the Guthrie family, he added, "I wish I could jump out and defend every single one of them that's been falsely accused."
Meanwhile, Savannah and her siblings announced a $1 million reward for the return of their mom, dead or alive. "If you've been waiting and you haven't been sure, let this be your sign to please come forward," Savannah said in a February 24th Instagram video. "Tell what you know, and help us bring our beloved mom home, so that we can either celebrate a glorious, miraculous homecoming or celebrate the beautiful, brave, and courageous life that she has lived."
