Natalie Portman recently opened up about how her outlook on parenthood evolved following her divorce from her husband, Benjamin Millepied, in the previous year. The 43-year-old actress revealed that her children, 13-year-old son Aleph and 8-year-old daughter Amalia, have taken on an even greater significance in her life since her separation.
"My kids are a perpetual source of joy and wonder, as I witness their transformation into the unique individuals they are becoming," shared the 'Black Swan' star with Jenna Ortega for Interview Magazine. Reflecting on her post-divorce life, Portman added, "I've found immense pleasure in spending quality time with my friends, their kids, and my own little ones; it's been a delightful blend."
The 'V for Vendetta' actress admitted that she had eagerly anticipated having children with her now-ex-husband. "I was thrilled at the prospect of becoming a parent, especially with someone I deeply loved. However, it's crucial to surround yourself with people who keep you grounded and real," she confided.
Portman and the French choreographer tied the knot in 2012, a year after welcoming Aleph into their lives. Their love story began on the set of 'Black Swan' in 2009. The couple marked their 10th wedding anniversary in 2022 with heartfelt sentiments, with Portman posting, "Ten years today, @benjaminmillepied. And our bond only grows stronger."
Sadly, rumors of infidelity surrounding Millepied surfaced, ultimately leading to the couple's divorce being finalized in 2024.
