The Indiana Pacers player chose the hallowed grounds of Illinois State University, their alma mater, to pop the question. On July 28th, as captured in enchanting photos and videos posted on Instagram, Tyrese knelt down on the basketball court inside Hilton Coliseum, presenting his six-year girlfriend with a stunning, oval-cut diamond ring that sparkled with promise.
"The place where our love story first blossomed," penned the NBA star in the caption, "and where we embark on our next thrilling chapter." Jade responded playfully in the comments, "Future Mrs. What the Hali," hinting at their upcoming nuptials with a touch of whimsy.
Tyrese's fellow athletes hailed his romantic gesture as a grand slam, with WNBA star Caitlin Clark exclaiming, "WEDDING TIMEEEEE. LOVE YALL!" Jalen Smith of the Chicago Bulls joked, "Ohhhhhhh s--tttt it’s about time," while Buddy Hield of the Golden State Warriors added, "Congratulations my Dawg."
Tyrese may have the opportunity to focus intently on wedding preparations in the months ahead, as he is set to miss the entirety of the upcoming 2025-2026 NBA season due to a torn Achilles tendon. He underwent surgery in June and is focused on recovery.

"I know I’ll emerge from this trial a stronger individual and an even better player." He further reflected, "My path to this point hasn’t been by chance; I’ve pushed myself relentlessly towards greatness, and I’ll continue to do so."
While acknowledging that sitting out an entire season "sucks," Tyrese expressed gratitude for every experience in his burgeoning career.
