The entire world is watching as Niall Horan continues to dance with Amelia "Mia" Woolley, and ahead of the One Direction veteran's anticipated release of his fourth studio album, Dinner Party, on June 5, he opened up about how his girlfriend of five years has not only inspired numerous tracks on the project but also sparked significant changes in his personal life.

"I'm glad I found her," he told GQ in an interview published on March 19, referring to his romance with Mia. "She's amazing, and she's got her own thing going on. I love the life that we've got."

Considering Niall, now 32, was thrust into the spotlight at just 16 alongside his bandmates Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, and Liam Payne, meeting Mia gave him the chance to slow down and consider what he truly wanted out of his future.

"Since I was a teenager, I hadn't really had the chance to pause and consider my life path," he explained. "I felt ready once I met this person. This was the first time I put down roots, bought a house, and got a dog."

And since his life has changed so drastically since meeting Mia, the "Slow Hands" singer spelled out exactly how in tracks like "Dinner Party," the upcoming single dropping on March 20, as well as "Little More Time." The latter song, he revealed, details a specific moment in his romance with Mia when he realized he wanted to create a quieter life with her.

"We'd had a few drinks, had a couple of friends over, and then they left. I was like, 'F--k, I have to leave tomorrow,'" Niall recalled. "The suitcase is getting packed again. I was like, 'I don't want to. I want to stay here with you and do what we do best: chilling and being at home.'"

In Mia, the "Heartbreak Weather" singer has found "someone to rant with and listen to and be listened to," and he shared how the stars aligned in Dinner Party's title track.

"The song itself is about the first time that I met my girlfriend," Niall—who first stepped out with Mia in 2021—explained in a social media video on March 2. "This is the first time I thought about like a bigger picture, like a once-in-a-lifetime moment that actually changes your direction in life."

As he put it, "That shock to your system makes you go, 'Oh f--k, things are different now.'"
