In this candid discussion, Horan revealed that he couldn't help but think about his ex-bandmate's young son, Bear, throughout the ordeal. For those unaware, Payne tragically passed away from "internal and external bleeding" resulting from his fall from the balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina. His cause of death has been linked to the fall itself, despite the significant amount of drugs found in his system.

According to audio obtained from the call made to authorities, it was stated that Payne was "intoxicated by drugs and alcohol" and was "breaking the whole room," per Reuters. It's also pertinent to mention that Payne is survived only by his infant son, Bear, born on March 22nd, 2017, to singer Cheryl Tweedy.

In addition, Payne's estate, valued at $32.2 million, is to be administered by his wife and attorney Richard Mark Bray, as there was no will in place. According to People, both parties will "manage the money," but they currently have limited authority and cannot distribute it.

This tragic event serves as a reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing every moment with loved ones.
