Niecy Nash-Betts still harbors a playful grievance against her long-time friend, Colman Domingo. In 2020, the 55-year-old actress tied the knot with her wife, Jessica Betts, with Domingo, also 55, presiding over the ceremony as the officiant. During an appearance on the June 24th episode of "Today With Jenna & Friends," Niecy reminisced about her wedding day and the striking yellow ensemble that Domingo donned for the occasion.

"I wed the love of my life in my backyard, surrounded by 24 guests, and do you know who my officiant was?" Niecy asked Jenna Bush Hager with a smile. "None other than Colman Domingo!" A picture from their intimate summer backyard wedding then flashed on the screen, showing the "Sing Sing" star standing behind the couple at the altar.

"There's Colman!" Niecy exclaimed, pointing at the photo. "Now, I have a little grudge against him because I have no idea what he was wearing, and I've never forgiven him for that. It's a wedding, for goodness' sake!"

Hager, 43, then asked the "Today" team to zoom in on the photo so she could get a closer look at Domingo's attire, which consisted of an abstract black and yellow suit, a checkered top, and crisp white sneakers.

"He looked like a stunning bumblebee, but I had to say, not for this occasion – you're my officiant!" Niecy chuckled. "Couldn't you have found a pair of black slacks somewhere? It really upset me."

Known for his daring fashion choices, Domingo recently co-chaired the 2025 Met Gala, where the theme was "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style."

Before her marriage to Jessica, Niecy was previously married to Don Nash from 1994 to 2007 and Jay Tucker from 2011 to 2020. On "Today," she revealed that her current wife is her "soulmate."

"My first two marriages were to men, and now I'm married to a woman," Niecy explained. "It's not about the gender that makes it special. I just met my soulmate. I wasn't living a sexually repressed life, thinking, 'Oh my God, I really want to be married to a woman!' No, I simply met the most beautiful soul."

Reflecting on her role in the LGBTQ+ community, Niecy added, "I was an ally before, but now I'm a card-carrying member." She then joked, "And here's the catch: I didn't receive a welcome package, no manual, not even a toaster as a gift! I have friends in the community – I thought there would be a parade outside my house! But I got nothing, folks! Nothing! Now, though, I'm in all the Pride parades."

Nash and Domingo co-starred in the 2014 historical drama film "Selma," which chronicled the 1965 Selma to Montgomery voting rights marches in Alabama, led by Martin Luther King Jr., John Lewis, and other civil rights leaders.
