Nina Dobrev brought along a loyal companion for the latest chapter in her Wicked Diaries. The Vampire Diaries alum stepped out alongside longtime friend Tyler Lain for the premiere of Wicked: For Good in New York City on November 17th, and the duo made for a divine duo at the star-studded event.
For the outing, Nina walked the red carpet in a floor-length black gown featuring sequin detailing and a rounded neck. To top off her ensemble, the 36-year-old—who ended her engagement with Shaun White in September after five years together—styled her hair in a slicked-back bun and wore classic diamond earrings. As for Tyler, also 36, he held onto his companion's waist while posing for pictures in a cream-colored deep-V cardigan and dark gray suit. To complete his wickedly stylish ensemble, the model rocked square-shaped sunglasses with tinted brown lenses.

Nina and Tyler are no strangers to leaning on each other for a good time. Earlier this week, the pair attended the opening night of the Chess musical in New York. Plus, last October, Tyler got all glammed up to be Nina's red carpet date for a performance by the New York City Ballet. But showing out for the sequel of Wicked holds a particularly special place in Nina's heart. After all, she revealed that she shares a surprising connection to Jeff Goldblum—who stars as the wizard in the franchise—and his wife Emilie Livingston.
"Jeff is a friend through Emilie," Nina exclusively told E! News' Justin Sylvester at the November 17th premiere. "I know his wife, because we did gymnastics together when we were little, so it's fun to just support the group." However, the Love Hard actress insisted that she would have been a fan of the magical story either way. "It's an iconic musical," Nina said. "We all grew up listening to it and watching it."
As for what character she relates to the most, Nina was quick to point to Cynthia Erivo's Elphaba, describing herself as "full witch." "I have, like, spidey senses and I know things before I'm supposed to know things," she explained. "So yeah, I do feel witchy at times."
