Noah Schnapp, who courageously came out as gay in January 2023, recently sparked curiosity with a post on Instagram announcing a "one-month anniversary" with an unidentified man. Teasing his fans, he later revealed that it was all an April Fools' joke. Initially, he shared a photo of the two embracing, captioned "one month of us." The next day, he clarified the prank with a simple "April fools" on his Instagram story.

Beyond the prank, Noah has been candid about how playing the gay character of Will Byers helped him better understand himself. He explained that seeing audiences embrace the character made him feel comfortable with himself, not just sexually but as a person. The 21-year-old admitted that he often felt like the "weird kid on the side" growing up, but that experience and playing Will helped him accept and embrace himself and learn that it's okay to be different.
He told Variety previously that when he eventually came out to friends and family after 18 years of being closeted, their reaction was simple and humorous: "We know." After publicly coming out on TikTok, he was overwhelmed with support, receiving "a thousand texts of hearts and congratulations and rainbow flags."
"I was crying. I was like, 'I made it. I'm done. I don't have to worry,'" the Stranger Things star revealed at the time.
