North West is showcasing her bold and fearless style. On Saturday, May 23, the 12-year-old daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West shared a few photos on her Instagram Stories, highlighting her signature bright blue hair and a collection of piercings on her hands and fingers. In a series of selfies wearing an all-gray outfit with a bulky chain necklace featuring a skull and crossbones, and a pair of furry boots, North displayed at least five piercings on her hand and fingers, in addition to another on her wrist. It's unclear whether all of the piercings are real.
When North was first spotted with a dermal piercing on her hand in September 2025, fans quickly criticized Kardashian, 45, for allowing her preteen daughter to undergo body modifications. Also known as microdermal piercings or single-point piercings, dermal piercings lie flat against the skin and don't have a separate entry and exit point. "She's 12. Wtf is Kim doing?!" one user wrote on Reddit, while another added, "Who the f--- lets their 12-year-old have piercings? And who the f--- pierces a 12-year-old? My kid didn't even have her ears pierced at 12."

The following month, the SKIMS co-founder shared on an episode of Call Her Daddy that she occasionally regrets allowing North to wear certain outfits. "I'm like, okay, we're never wearing that again," she said in October. "Unfortunately, we made that mistake in front of the whole world."
"As a mom, you're kind of learning at the same time," she continued. "She's really mature in one sense where she'll be like, 'Mom, I saw this, and I don't really care that they don't like... my blue hair or this or that.' She's really confident and is like, 'I probably wouldn't be hanging out with those people.'"
In addition to debuting a bridge piercing and more finger piercings throughout the following months, North responded to the criticism over her dermal piercing by lip-synching to a TikTok audio that said, "Why are you crying? How old are you? Just pull it together." "This is for everyone that's mad over a finger piercing," she added over the clip in December.
North also rapped about her love for "piercings and tats" in a January collaboration with her rapper dad, 48, titled "Piercing on My Hand (Ye Version)." "Piercing on my hand, the other holding bands," North rapped in the song. "No friends, just filter, you wouldn't understand." "All my friends are hits, you know I'm not lazy/You're so angry that I'm so mainstream," she continued later in the track. "I'm not sure I'm crazy/I want more piercings and tats/I love blue hair put it in some plaits/Put the music to the max/I want like a hundred thousand racks."
